John’s Semester List
August 19, 2008
The summer is about over, August 25th is the “Official First Day of Classes” at UNL, so that leaves me with a little under a week to prepare for my last semester of walking to college classes. Next Monday will mark the beginning of my fifth year at UNL, amazing how time flies. I still can’t believe I used to live in the dorms for 2 years, seemed so long ago.
Every semester I sort of set out to create a list of things I would like to see-through for the next 4 months, I think previous lists were something like, go to class everyday, no more than 2 naps during the week, no tequila (that didn’t work). I hope everyone does something like this and I sure it’s done subconsciously too, but here goes mine, plastered on my very first post on my first blog. Cheers
Fall 2008. My List
- Blog at least twice a week
I put this at the top of the list because whenever I am thinking about being productive, yes thinking not actually being productive, I really really want to keep a blog. I’m not too sure on the blog content. I enjoy technology, education, Chicago Cub’s baseball bleedecubbieblue.com is the best,Apple products and daily life thoughts in general. I speculate this blog will entail most of those, but who knows. I just want to write.
2. Stay Organized…because I am right now (planner, hang shirts up)
Let’s just get this right out for everyone to read, I’m not the most organized person. When I say “not the most”, I mean the least, ever. After moving into my new house, I have been doing quite the job staying organized. I actually use my hamper, hang shirts and fold jeans back in their appropriate place. I also have been using the calendar on my iphone and I love it. Lets hope the folding and neatness is hear to stay
3. Better with the $$
I think this and #2 go hand in hand. Not the best at balancing the checkbook but, then again, don’t have that much balance.
4. Go to Wrigley in October
So I kind of veered off from the “Semester List.” This is important to me so thats why it’s here. Cubbies are having a magical season. Playing some of the best baseball in all of baseball. My brother moved into a house not further than a mile from Wrigley Field. If the Cub’s keep hitting and pitching like they are now, I’m sure we will all celebrate in October.
